The "Crow's Omen" by Jerry Potocnik is dramatic, engaging and beautifully written. It accurately reflects some fascinating Kansas and US history as well as telling a very interesting and very human tale. The characters in the story are portrayed with real depth and understanding which makes the book satisfying to read. I will remember the characters for years. This is truly one of the best books I have read in a long time!

I finished The Crows’ Omen today. I enjoyed it so very much, and after a while I just couldn’t put it down. It’s so intelligent, well researched and sincere - but also a great read! There were constant surprises, chapters that I enjoyed going back to visit, and I fell in love with so many characters. It’s an incredible accomplishment.

The complex character development was surpassed by only the accuracy of the detailed regional culture. Lots of emotions run between the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel.
